BDEW zum Auftakt des Weltwasserkongresses 2012 in Süd-Korea: Wasserwirtschaft diskutiert Energieeffizienz-Potenziale

Die Steigerung der Energieeffizienz in der Wasser- und Abwasserwirtschaft gehört zu den zentralen Themen des Weltwasserkongresses der 'International Water Association' im südkoreanischen Busan.
Pro-Kopf-Energiebedarf für die Trinkwasserversorgung liegt in Deutschland bei 29 kWh pro Jahr. "Die Senkung des Energieverbrauches und damit der Kosten sowie eine verstärkte Energieerzeugung auf Basis erneuerbarer Energien rückt zunehmend auch bei Wasserversorgungs- und Abwasserentsorgungsunternehmen in den Fokus", sagte Martin Weyand, Hauptgeschäftsführer Wasser/Abwasser des Bundesverbandes der Energie- und Wasserwirtschaft (BDEW) zum Auftakt des Kongresses.
Der Weltwasserkongress gilt als eine der wichtigsten internationalen wasserwirtschaftlichen Veranstaltungen, auf dem rund 3.000 Experten aus den Bereichen Wissenschaft und Forschung, Wasserversorgungsunternehmen, Technologieproduzenten und industriellen Wassernutzern aktuelle Trends und Entwicklungen diskutieren.
"Die Bandbreite der Verfahren zur Energiegewinnung und zum Energiesparen im Wasser- und Abwasserbereich ist inzwischen enorm. Als fast unumgänglich wird heute beim Energiesparen im Abwasserbereich der Austausch von Anlagenteilen durch energieeffizientere Komponenten angesehen", so Weyand.
