Berlin bei der EXPO 2008 in Zaragoza - Berliner Uferfiltration im deutschen Pavillon

Berlins Trinkwasser ist von viel gerühmter Qualität, die keinen Vergleich mit Mineralwässern scheuen muss. Und es ist chlorfrei. Obwohl es direkt unter der Metropole gewonnen wird. Wir haben dies in einem interaktiven Modell dargestellt und freuen uns darauf, die Berliner Uferfiltration im deutschen Pavillon auf der EXPO 2008 in Zaragoza vorstellen zu können.
Das Kompetenzzentrum Wasser Berlin (KWB), Veolia Wasser und die Berliner Wasserbetriebe haben mit einem beträchtlichen Forschungsaufwand Licht in diese hoch komplexen Prozesse gebracht, die tief unter unseren Füßen ablaufen. Und erkannt, dass dieses Prinzip auch vielen anderen Wasserversorgern helfen kann. „Wie wichtig Berliner Forschung auf dem Gebiet der Wasserversorgung und Abwasserentsorgung ist, zeigt sich auch daran, dass das Modell der Berliner Uferfiltration für den deutschen Pavillon ausgewählt worden ist.“ betont Harald Wolf, Berlins Senator für Wirtschaft, Technologie und Frauen.
Im Mittelpunkt der EXPO vom 14. Juni bis 14. September 2008 stehen die Themen Wasser und nachhaltige Entwicklung. Rund 100 Nationen und zahlreiche internationale Organisationen zeigen Wege zum verantwortungsvollen Umgang mit der kostbaren Ressource auf.
