Zu den umfangreichen Baumaßnahmen zählen unter anderem die Erneuerung der Staumauerkrone und die Montage einer Dichtfolie an der Wasserseite der Staumauer. Zusätzlich werden die Abdichtung im Gründungsbereich sowie die stählernen wasserbaulichen Absperrorgane und Einlaufrechen der Triebwasserführung und der Grundablässe erneuert. Darüber hinaus werden Erhaltungsmaßnahmen an der Luftseite der Staumauer durchgeführt und ein neues Einlaufbauwerk für die zukünftige Triebwasserführung errichtet. Durch diese nach dem neuesten Stand der Technik projektierten Maßnahmen wird nach Aussage des Auftraggebers sichergestellt, dass die Staumauer Silvrettasee ihre Funktionstüchtigkeit in den kommenden Jahrzehnten wie bisher erfüllt.
Voraussichtlich ab Ende Februar werden die FBS-Stahlbetonrohre von der Jäger Bau GmbH, Schruns, eingebaut. Je nach Witterungsverlauf verbleiben sie nach Beendigung der Baumaßnahmen im See oder werden vor Inbetriebnahme des Speichers teilweise wieder ausgebaut.
