Golden Opportunity - PPXX Welcomes SABIC Sponsorship
Feb 03, 2021
Organizers of the Plastic Pipes XX (PPXX) welcome SABIC as a new golden sponsor of the Plastic Pipes XX (PPXX) Conference and Exhibition scheduled to take place in Amsterdam on September 6-8, 2021.
“We are delighted to announce the sponsorship by SABIC,” said PPXX Chairman Zoran Davidovski. “SABIC has contributed to the development of plastic pipe technology including the introduction of polypropylene random copolymers (PPR) and high temperature polyethylene (PE-RT) for hot and cold-water systems and HDPE grades to safeguard the delivery of water and gas supply as well as for rainwater and sewer mains. It has also introduced a cost effective ‘strain hardening method’ to test HDPE pressure pipes,” he added.
The PPXX Conference and Exhibition in Amsterdam was postponed to September this year, due to the covid pandemic. Davidovski is confident that travel restrictions will be relaxed and that a safe meeting environment will be in place for the event to go ahead.
“Meanwhile, the experts that shape the future of our plastic pipe technology have not ceased in their endeavours. Our conference will showcase 100 presentations that communicate worldwide advancements in material development, research findings, case studies, non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and other areas concerning plastic pipe technology and the industry that promotes it.”
In relation to the global pipe market, Davidovski is upbeat. “It is clear that recovery around the world is not around the corner. However, plastic pipes have a vital role to play in a post-pandemic recovery of our communities and economies. Urbanization continues to boost demand for plastic pipes for wastewater drainage, gas and water mains as well as telecoms. Whereas growth in the worldwide market for plastic pipes is projected at USD 8.2 billion over 2020 – 2027, the industry has a record and capacity for outperforming expectations.”
Organized by the Plastic Pipe Conference Association (PPCA) and held every two years, the Conference and Exhibition are hosted by PPCA members: PE 100+ Association, the Plastics Pipe Institute, Inc. (PPI) and The European Plastic Pipes and Fittings Association (TEPPFA).
The following sponsors are already on board for PLASTIC PIPE XX in Amsterdam:
