Wichtiger Umweltpreis wird 2009 in Augsburg vergeben: Karl-Imhoff-Preis der DWA ausgeschrieben

In Würdigung der großen Verdienste, die sich Dr.-Ing. Karl Imhoff um die deutsche und internationale Wasser- und Abwasserwirtschaft erworben hat, sowie zur bleibenden Erinnerung an sein Wirken, hat die Deutsche Vereinigung für Wasserwirtschaft, Abwasser und Abfall e.V. (DWA) den Karl-Imhoff-Preis als Umweltpreis geschaffen. Der Karl-Imhoff-Preis dient der Förderung wissenschaftlicher Arbeiten auf den Arbeitsgebieten der Vereinigung und ist mit 10 000 Euro dotiert.
Förderung von wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten aus dem Tätigkeitsbereich der DWA
Der Karl-Imhoff-Preis soll der Förderung von wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten dienen, deren Themen im Tätigkeitsbereich der DWA liegen. Er wird regelmäßig für hervorragende Forschungsarbeiten, Dissertationen oder Prüfungsarbeiten verliehen. Neben dem mit 10 000 Euro dotierten Preis können bei Vorliegen mehrerer hervorragender Arbeiten bis zu zwei Belobigungen ausgesprochen werden. Der Preis wurde von der damaligen Abwassertechnischen Vereinigung im Jahr 1956 geschaffen. Er wird vergeben zur Würdigung der großen Verdienste, die sich der Essener Abwasserpionier Dr.-Ing. Karl Imhoff (1876 – 1965) um die deutsche und internationale Abwasserwirtschaft erworben hat, sowie zur bleibenden Erinnerung an sein Wirken. Zuletzt wurde dieser Umweltpreis im Rahmen der DWA-Bundestagung 2005 in Potsdam für eine Arbeit zur Deammonifikation hoch stickstoffhaltiger Abwässer vergeben.
Antragsunterlagen
Bewerbungen sind in fünffacher Ausfertigung an die Bundesgeschäftsstelle in Hennef zu richten. Beizufügen sind:Angaben über Name, Geburtsdatum, Ausbildungsgang (Lebenslauf) und Anschrift des Bewerbers, die der Bewerbung zugrunde liegende Arbeit, eine Versicherung an Eides Statt, dass die eingereichte Arbeit von dem Bewerber selbst angefertigt ist, sowie eine Kurzfassung/Zusammenfassung.
