Itron Launches Powerful Smart Metering Analytics Designed Specifically for Water
Jun 03, 2013
Itron, Inc. announced an expansion of its analytic capabilities in North America with Itron Water Analytics. Itron Water Analytics includes a data store optimized for analytics, business intelligence dashboards and water utility specific analytics that turn smart metering and other operational data into actionable intelligence to improve utility operations and asset management.
Faced with aging infrastructure, increased demand and average water losses of 10 to 30 percent, water utilities are focused on improving the management of water distribution systems. Itron Water Analytics provides revenue protection, district metering, flow analysis and trending and forecasting modules to help utilities better manage the delivery and use of water. In addition, the analytic application features a simple, intuitive user interface to allow water operators to easily access and analyze critical information about their system. Itron Water Analytics is pre-integrated with Itron’s ChoiceConnect solution to provide a comprehensive smart metering solution for water utilities.
“Today’s water utilities face a broad range of business challenges, from commodity supply and price pressures to rising operational costs. Itron Water Analytics helps utilities achieve their business goals through innovative data analysis and easy access to actionable intelligence,” said Paula Billingham, vice president of sales, marketing and delivery for Water North America at Itron. “Simply having access to meter data is not enough. Turning data into insight in an easy and accessible way is key.”
Itron Water Analytics is a part of Itron Analytics solution, a platform and solution suite designed to turn data—spanning multiple commodities and applications—into faster, more informed and increasingly automated decision making. By looking across a utility’s advanced metering systems combining GIS, customer information and other databases, Itron Analytics gives utilities the tools to manage, interpret and act on increasingly large and complex smart metering information. It allows utilities to derive greater value from their smart distribution investments and realize the full potential of their systems.
