TRIC Tools Uses Green Technology to Upgrade California Dairies Underground Infrastructure

Jul 22, 2013

TRIC Tools, Inc., a Northern California based Pipe Bursting technology company, partnered with its Fresno based client, Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Fresno, to upgrade an underground sewer line at California Dairies Milk Processing plant. TRIC replaced an 8" Vitrified Clay Pipe (VCP) wastewater mainline that laid beneath the office to the plant.

The 65' long 8" VCP main was replaced with 8” High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Pipe using TRIC's M50 pipe bursting system. Bob Grenier, Municipal Sales Director and Stephen Parfery, Service Manager represented TRIC on the Project. Mr. Grenier fused the 8" pipe with a GF Connectra's 28CQ Fusion Machine that was co-engineered by TRIC's Ward Carter. Bob said, "The pipe entered in with a 22 degree bend before it straightened out going on a straight line under a cynder block that supported the office." He continued, “The crew had used other pipe bursting equipment before but seemed really impressed on how flawless the job worked out with TRIC."

TRIC’s equipment enabled Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Fresno to use a small carbon footprint while replacing an undergound pipeline. Pipe Bursting required minimal excavation enabling California Dairy’s office to maintain operations without disrupting their routine. The M50’s footprint closely resembles that of the smaller X Series Pipe Bursting equipment. All of TRIC’s tools enable a green technology to limit the impact on surrounding infrastructure.
